Fredericksburg Texas

Visited Fredericksburg, Texas and was pleasantly surprised.  Texas town with German heritage.  I enjoyed the National Museum of the Pacific.  Themed with Chester Nimitz who is a home town guy.  Fredericksburg is a tourist town with lots of things to see and do.
The National Museum of the Pacific sells tickets that are good for forty eight hours.  There are three separate venues of the museum.  At least they realize that any museum takes time to visit.  I found it very interesting.
Fredericksburg has a little town feel to it but there are some upscale type shops and wineries in the area.
If you are in the area I'd recommend spending a few hours or better still a day just to stroll up and down the streets visiting all the shops on Main Street.
Yes some of the things are a bit over priced but cheaper then going to Germany to get them.  I found that most of the people here don't speak German if you are looking to do that.  The people are friendly with that Texas drawl.
